Kevin O South Amboy , NJ January 15, 2016 Appliance: Model MAYTAG Washing machine cold water wouldn't shut off I unplugged the washer and the water continued to run. I then shut off the cold water valve and it stopped. I decided the cold water inlet valve was not closing and needed to be replaced. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pro on a Sunday night and received it on Tuesday. The part was easy to install. Only held in with 2 screws. The wiring was easily swapped to the new part. I looked around to get an idea of what the issue could potentially be and narrowed it down to one of the input water valves. I ordered both the cold and hot (just in case), but from playing with the shutoff valves, I was able to determine it was likely the cold water valve. I had previously ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros and their instructional videos are top notch. I ordered the part and had it within 2 days and followed the video. I was pretty familiar with my washer from replacing the gearcase 2 years ago, but this an incredibly easy job. I spent more time getting a bucket/towels/tools together than I did actually replacing the valve.
