This is a sealed RTD (resistance temperature detector) sensor used in ranges and ovens to accurately monitor internal cooking temperatures. The sensor sends temperature readings to the control board, which regulates heating elements accordingly. Replace this sensor if the oven is not heating to the correct temperature, displays error codes related to temperature sensing, or cycles on and off erratically.
