Ordered Idler Arm, Belt Tension Pulley & Washers. I ordered parts at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday, received new parts at 11:30 am Thursday. The instructions & videos were very simple to follow and provided excellent tips. Back up and running with silence in an 1/2 hour. My 13 year old dryer is running like new again. William B Rocky Mount , NC December 17, 2018 Loud squealing noise First replaced the drum rollers...that wasn't it..took dryer back apart and spun the belt tension wheel by hand (should have done this the first time I took the dryer apart) and it squeaked. so I ordered the full parts: wheel, idler arm, idler spring, arm sleeve, E ring..Put it back together and whoa..no more squealing!! This dryer is about 20 years old and now we hope to get a few more years out of it. Richard G El Paso , TX December 18, 2018 Appliance: Model MAYTAG NEPTUNE The rollers needed to be replaced, the axles for the rollers needed to be replaced, the tension pulley roller needed to be replaced, the belt needed to be replaced It took me about 2 hours to take everything apart and get it back together & running again with no problems. Peter F Tarrytown , NY March 19, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer DG8000 Terrible screeching sound and worn out felt seals. Recently moved into a new house with a 25 year old dryer that started screeching. The whole drum had quite a bit of play in all directions, so I figured it be a good idea to replace the support rollers, tumbler bearings, and felt seal. I also replaced the belt and idler pulley wheel while I was in there. I followed a combination of videos on this site as well as a few I found on YouTube to pull it all apart and put it back together again. Most time consuming part was replacing the felt seals and cleaning up the inside of the machine while I was in there. These old dryers are quite simple and everything comes apart with just a few hand tools. Only more unique tools I needed was a set of snap ring pliers for the drum support rollers and a hand held riveter, I picked up both for a total of $10 from a local harbor freight. When all was said and done it fired up with a nice soft hum. My wife didn't believe it was running initially.
