Anthony D Follansbee , WV May 12, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE 110.92597400 No spin every thing else worked made high speed ticking noise First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. I first changed the coupling on the motor but that wasn't bad. in trying to get the pump off, I damaged the front seal and it started to leak. so back to appliance part pros for a pump. Service and delivery was fast and customer service responsive and courteous. I also purchased some dogs to repair the agitator and everything went accordingly to the vid. also buy the spanner wrench, makes things easy. Cleaning everything up before re-assembly is the hardest and most time consuming part. But washer looks and runs good for now. Also be prepared to have to replace hoses or hose washers and possibly shut off valve washers too. Mario M Corona , CA January 03, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LSQ9650PG2 Washer would agitate but would not go into high spin sounded like spin was working though Im not a repairman, so all my knowledge to fix my washer came from either youtube or online chats. I posted this to help the next dad trying to save a few bucks. Door sensor... Since door sensor worked correctly, verified that by starting washer with door open, and agitate cycle would not start until door was closed. Meaning door sensor worked correctly. Timer... In high spin cycle washer sounded correcltly spinning, but when opening door, drum was was not moving. So timer was triggering motor to start high spin, but drum would not move. Also tried rotating drum to catch clutch, and closing door, that worked sometimes This meant timer was OK, and clutch was starting to fail and catch drum. Clutch and coupling Decided to change clutch and while i had the washer disassembled, i also changed the Coupling. I followed videos to change clutch and coupling, removing washer cover, job wasnt too bad, took about 2 hrs, hardest part was to put cover back on. The old coupling was original plastic and had minor wear, but not significant. Old cluctch ring easily turned w fingers, and had slitghtly come off clutch metal case housing dish. After fixes, Washer goes onto high speed cycle fine now, i think that because i chaned the coupling to the metal reinforced ones, the washer is quiet and smooth like when it was new. Good luck on your project Read More... 10 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Laurence O O'fallon , IL November 03, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Commercial Washer MAT14PDAWW0 Sometimes it would spin other times it would not, agitated fine Replaced transmission (that was the problem) and clutch (if you're going to tear it down put in a new clutch - they're cheap). APPRO's video was a big help. Everything went as they showed except transmission does not just slide out. You have to work it in and out several times. Once it breaks free it will slip out. This was my first transmission. It was not nearly as hard as I had thought it would be.
