Robert B San Diego , CA March 11, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MDG5806AWW Squeaking dryer Replaced the tension pulley assembly, drum rollers, drum roller axles, belt, and drum glides while I had the dryer disassembled. It turned out that the cause of the squeak was the tension pulley assembly, however it was easy and economical enough to replace anything that could have been the cause of the squeaking while I had the dryer apart. The parts were ordered on Thursday afternoon and delivered on Friday. I had the dryer repaired and running like new in no time. For about $100, it was cheaper than calling a service technician who would have charged me that much just to figure out what was wrong with it. Louis L Westborough , MA April 04, 2015 Squealing noisy dryer The belt, front glides, and tension pulley were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. Though they were in good shape, I also replaced the rear support rollers while I had the dryer open. I took my time and used an air compressor to blow out dust and debris and vac'ed it all up. When I was done everything was as clean as I could make it. It now works like new and is quiet as can be. Read More... Joseph A Oak Hill , VA November 01, 2016 Appliance: Amana Electric Dryer ALE643RBW Dryer had loud screeching noise like metal on metal scraping Ended up being a worn drum roller; was missing a washer. Since I had the dryer taken apart ended up replacing the idle pulley, other drum roller, and belt. Figured I can give the dryer a tuneup, so I won't have to worry for at least another 5-7 years. Only cost $80 and a couple hours of elbow grease. AppliancePartsPros had all the parts I needed at the best price. Their model filter identifies all common wear&tear parts, was easy to navigate and order. Also had YouTube install/replacement videos. Now it's is very quiet and runs like new! One stop shop for DIY maintenance. Love it! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Wrench Set
Dale B Powell , TN August 26, 2019 Won't tumble. Very easy repair, probably could have just replaced the belt, parts look up was simple and correct. Other advertisers had incorrect parts listed such as the tensioner pulley. Very happy with the results. Thanks D. Read More...
