Took off the wash plate and replaced it with the new part. Simply pop the center cap off--remove the bolt with a 11mm socket--lift the old one up. Installed new parts, and in a jiffy we're back to doing laundry. Others had the same issue and it only took a few minutes to determine that we needed to order a new washplate. We ordered it on a Thursday and by Friday noon, it was here! The ribs on the agitater are plastic and will strip out if the washer is overloaded with laundry. It is easy to replace just remove the cap cover on top of agitater then remove the nut located underneath the cap and the agitater pulls up and out.
