Michel L Rockledge , FL March 26, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Side By Side Refrigerator ED25QFXHW00 Replaced of water filter then discovered a long slimy clear algae on purging system After watching installation videos on each felt I could pull it off and ordered and received replacement water reservoir and water dispenser tube assembly. Reservoir installation went off without a hitch outside of the added step of the need to remove the entire main in waterline assy in order to access the connectors which also were not as represented in video, in that they were not the press-to-release type but standard threaded compression types. Water Dispenser tube/spout assembly was much more difficult in normal process in that the hex screw, holding the rubber-like block surrounding the hole through which the water dispenser tube must pass at the freezer door bottom hinge, is shown in the video as being relatively easy to remove with a 5/16" socket. However, the hex screw head is a very low profile (about 3/16") and wedged up against a metal bracket flange only about 1/32" away from the hex head. Net result, removing the screw and brubber block to increase the access hole for feeding the string fish line wraped and taped around the old tube in order to then reverse the process to fish the new line down to connect to the water source linewas not possibl, for me. SOLUTION: I opted to drill a 1/8" hole thru both walls of the of the tube about a 1/4" from the open end thru which I was able to thread string and tie off with the knot in front of the tube opening allowing easy and unfettered access to be pulled through the entire tube chase without any difficulty in both the old tube removal and new installation. Problem solved, and all tubes working w/o any leaks! Thanks. George S Delran , NJ March 24, 2014 Appliance: KitchenAid KSRS25QAWH01 Water discharge broke. Had to replace the water tube assembly. The video on the website (ApplianceParts Pros.com) gave good instructions. However, the tube was taped to the inside of the control panel, therefore, pulling the tube through the door was impossible. I had to remove the entire control panel from the door, remove the tape, and the tube was free. After this, I had one other issue. With the tape and string on the tube, it was difficult to pull through the beginning of the bottom of the door. I ended up pulling a thin wire through the tube, then removing the tube from the door. I then placed tape on the end of the wire, and pulled that through. I then taped the string to the tube, and continued to tape the string, about 6 inches below the tube. I pulled it through the door, and once it became snugged at the bottom , I was able to pull on the taped wire, and force it through the hole. The taped string really helped strengthen the taped string, keeping it from slipping off the tube. Back in business.
