Igal E Memphis , TN January 01, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIC15NRXS1 The ice maker was making very small ice cubes with a cloudy appearance There are plenty of DIY youtube videos to show you how to replace the parts. I went ahead and replaced more than just the broken parts. I figured if I had the machine opened up, I might as well replace parts that could go out in the future. I might have gone a bit too far with all the other parts. The only part that was really broken was the wiring harness. Two of the wires had corroded from the sockets and there was no other way than to replace the entire harness. Its a bit tricky to feed the harness through the back of the machine. You just need to slowly feed it through. The rest of the parts are plug and play. John H Panama City Beach , FL March 06, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIC15NRXS1 Not making ice due to moisture corroded the connections for the sensor and harness Replaced both sensor and harness. This is the second time I've had this issue. The first time I just replaced the sensor. This time the harness was just as bad. This time I removed the metal bracket that the harness connectors rest on and wrapped the connections with electrical tape and vulcanizing tape. The new harness was much longer so I was able to put it in the corner out of the way in a service loop. I recommend doing this is you experience this moisture issue. Andrew S Bluff Dale , TX October 02, 2015 Not making ice After growing frustrated with the local appliance repair company I decided to take it on myself. One of the pins on the plug on the wiring harness had corroded and broken off. It appeared that a couple of the other pins on the other plugs were not in very good condition either. I found the wiring harness on Appliance Parts Pro and ordered on a Sunday. The part shipped the next day and I received Tuesday, the following day. Installed the new harness and to my surprise, we were making ice by Tuesday night. It was a pretty big undertaking for a novice repairman but nonetheless, we are making ice.
