The spark plug is responsible for taking the electricity sent to it and creating the spark that ignites the internal combustion engine, allowing it to turn over and start. When the spark plug fires, it starts the engine and holds the current to keep the engine running. In the event that a spark plug is going bad, the engine may idle rough or stall out, or fail to start entirely. These symptoms could be a sign that it is time for a replacement. Replacing spark plugs is a part of routine engine maintenance and is easy with this genuine OEM replacement.
This replacement spark plug is manufactured to exact standards by Briggs & Stratton, a leader in engines and engine components. This model is compatible with various engines on equipment from Toro, Briggs & Stratton, Lawn-Boy, and Vanguard by Briggs & Stratton, including lawn tractors and snowblowers. Spark plugs may require gapping before installation, which can be done with a special gap tool that is available. The replacement will also require a socket wrench or dedicated spark plug wrench. This unit is sold individually. It is always helpful to keep an extra spark plug on hand in case of emergency, as well.
