This muffler is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on lawn and garden equipment. It reduces the noise coming from the exhaust. Being a metal part exposed to the elements, it is not uncommon for mufflers to corrode over time and need replacement. As a lawnmower part, the muffler may sustain damage from debris in the yard while mowing. In either case, the muffler should be removed and replaced to keep the noise level to a minimum. The engine and damaged muffler should be cool to the touch before repairing the lawnmower. Wear work gloves and safety goggles. Remove the spark plug from the lawnmower for extra safety. Locate the bolts securing the muffler to the lawnmower and loosen them to remove the muffler. Dispose of the old muffler and align the new muffler with the bolts. Attach the new muffler and tighten the nuts. Put the spark plug back in the lawnmower. This muffler is a high-quality metal part that is individually sold. It does not come with hardware. It is designed for use on lawn mowers and lawn tractors manufactured by MTD, Ryobi, Yard Machines, Bolens, Yard-Man, Troy-Bilt, Poulan, and Husky.

This belt is a replacement part designed to be used on lawn tractors and lawn mowers. Over time, the belt becomes worn or damaged and needs to be replaced. A worn or broken belt can prevent the blades of the lawn mower from turning all together. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and it is sold individually. If the belt becomes stretched, worn, cracked, or broken, it should be replaced. To replace the belt, begin by ensuring the engine is cooled completely. While wearing appropriate work gloves, remove the blade and debris shield exposing the crank shaft pulley. Remove the drive belt off the crankshaft pulley, towards the engine. Pull the crankshaft pulley off, freeing the belt. Release the belt from the transmission pulley and remove it. Push the new belt through the deck opening and install the new belt onto the transmission. Reinstall the belt keeper on the transmission – this is important because too much friction on the belt itself can cause a fire in the engine. Replace all parts in their appropriate places. The lawn mower is now ready for use. This part is compatible with lawn tractors and lawn mowers manufactured by Yard Machines, MTD, Cub Cadet, and Yard-Man.

This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.
