This surface burner spark igniter creates the electric arc that lights the gas flame on your cooktop or range. Replacing a worn or cracked electrode restores reliable ignition and helps resolve hard-to-light burners and intermittent sparking.
- Provides a high-voltage spark at the surface burner to ignite gas
- Mounts to the orifice holder beneath the burner head
- Failure symptoms include burner not lighting, needing a match, or intermittent/weak spark
- Common issues: chipped/cracked ceramic insulator or damaged terminal/lead
Includes: One surface spark igniter Installation notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Allow the appliance to cool; remove grates, burner caps, and heads to access the orifice holder
- Transfer the ignition lead, install the new electrode, and route the wire away from heat and sharp edges
- Ensure the tip is positioned near the burner as designed; verify spark and ignition before reassembly

One of my burners wouldn't light Chris M. • Bay Village , OH • November 21, 2015
I disassembled the top of the range and looked at the problem burner. It looked like there was a spark at all three other burners but not the problem burner. There was a visible spark at the connector between the wiring harness and the ceramic igniter but that spark wasn't making it up to the top of the igniter where it can light the burner. I ordered a new igniter for $19 and it was on my doorstep the next day. I replaced the part and now my wife thinks I am a genius. Don't tell her that...
