Stephan for Model Number SHX46A02 UC/40 Hi. Until this week, my SHX46A02 UC dishwasher has been working fine since 2006 (except for solder issue on circuit board). So now at the start of a cycle it hum as usual but then nothing. It will fill with some water and I can get it to drain by cancelling cycle. If I just let it sit without stopping it, it will even open the detergent door at a certain time, apparently as usual in the cycle as before. I cant hear any water splashing around inside as usual. So I need some help to diagnose this. Could it be the circulating pump died? I dont think its something stuck in the impeller because I would hear the circulating pump doing something at least. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks
Answer Stephan, The first check would be the water valve and the water level in the tub. A lack of water can allow the dishwasher toy operate, but cannot properly circulate the water and the spray arms to wash the dishes. Yes, it is possible the damage the wash impeller, or have an object in the housing that can affect the water flow and pressure. So start at the water supply and fill level first. Read More...
