Made by Bosch. Common program control module for Bosch dishwashers SHU53/68. NOTE The manufacturer has redesigned the cover and indicator lights. Lights may be covered by the plastic case. You may have to remove the square covers over the indicator lights if needed. The same case is used for 6 and 8 indicator light models. They also no longer use the red bulb indicator lights, small surface mounted lights are used instead. If you require the Jumper Wire that goes with certain models, the part number is 00167782.

Marian for Model Number SHU5315UC [last digits blurred]

My 1998 Bosch dishwasher starts off any cycle with the 2H error signal then jumps down to 99 and counts back from there. At 1 it keeps on running and never stops running until I press the cancel/drain combo.[ it drains well and all filters are clean] If I don't catch it right away and it runs a long time, I open the door to find very sudsy water at the bottom which I assume is the rinse agent being washed out and repeatedly recycled as this happens even if the dishwasher is run empty with no detergent. I just detected that the water is not getting heated hotter than our very hot tap water. Also every time the door is opened then closed mid cycle and the start button repressed the timer jumps back to 99, 84, or 51 depending on below which of those three numbers the cycle was when the door was opened. I tried to run the test cycle but couldn't get it to respond. The control module was replaced in 2008. Is this the problem again or is it the heating apparatus? Thanks.

Answer

Marian, The 2H error is a heater error. You will want to check the heater and thermostat to make sure that they are good and check to make sure that the control board is sending power to the heater. You will also want to check the wire harness that goes from under the unit at the bend where it goes into the door. There may be a broken wire in that area that would cause this issue as well.
