Greg for Model Number SHU6805 UC/12 (FD 8003-) My dishwasher stopped working mid wash cycle with a tub full of water. I heard a slight sizzle and the scent of burning electrical apparatus as it failed, so I've replaced the control board. However, nothing happens when I close the door, latch the door and press the power button. There is 120V power to the machine and the door latch and power switch work fine. In fact, I switched the control panel and top half of the front panel on a working machine and everything is dead. The replacement panel works fine on the other machine, so I know it's not the board, switch and latch. Is there a fuse or fused link somewhere I should look for? What else could cause total power loss? Also, is there a secret way to re-install the bottom front panel after all is done? I can't seem to fit the flanges into their slots no matter what I do, and those white plastic bumpers are in the way! Thank you.
Answer Hello Greg, The first thing to do is remove the kick panel and open the power connection box. This is to check the wire nuts that are used to connect the unit to the home power supply. This is the most common cause of this complaint. If you find no loose or burner wire nuts, the next step is to test the door switches and ensure the control has been properly programmed to the model.
