Answer Hello Jen, The door boot is removed with a pair of needle nosed pliers. It is a metal ring with a spring attaching the two ends. It is stretched around the boot. When removed, the door boot can be pulled down to access the door lock assembly. Be aware that if the screws that hold the door lock assembly are tightened too tightly, the door lock assembly will not operate. The screws should be snugged down and backed off about 1/4 of a turn.
