Jim for Model Number FFFH20F2QW My freezer was flooded with salt water, (16" from floor up). The fan still runs inside the unit, but it is not cooling. The capacitor and controller get very very hot. The top of the compressor gets hot also. Is it likely that the motor got wet also, or is it a sealed unit? Trying to figure out if I should buy a controller and start capacitor or just toss the whole freezer in the trash. Hurricane Irma breakdowns :(
Answer Hello Jim, This is most likely just a bad controller 297259515. The only thing you can do is to test terminal to terminal on the compressor terminals. Two pairs of terminals will have lower resistances and when added together, they will total to the resistance of the third pair tested. This tests the windings of the compressor. If good, the controller is the cause of the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 19, 2017
