For Frigidaire Controller (Electronic Control Board) (Part Number: OEM13061145)

Robin for Model Number LFFH21F7HWJ

We have changed the Defrost Thermostat two times although my husband doesn't think that is the problem but we do defrost it each time we replaced it. It runs great for a few months then it gets frosted back up and the temperature goes back above zero and it has frost on the coils again we tested the defroster element last time we replace the Thermostat and now the temp is back up and something needs to be done but it runs great after it is defrosted. Any ideas?

Hello Robin, the scheduling of the defrost cycles is done by the control board 297235200. It appears it is losing its defrost cycle timing function.

Moe, The control should fix your issue as long as the liner has not deformed and doesn't actuate the switch when the door closes. 297235200

Hello Jay, likely the sealed system is just barely able to maintain temperature so the control is running the compressor non stop. If the leak in the system was no found and repaired and then recharged it is still leaking and the freezer is no longer considered reliable.

Scott, Do the basic checks first, door closes and seals properly, freezer is level and on solid flooring, check for proper clearances on the top, sides and back of freezer, etc. Based on your post information, the more likely issue is the 297235200 / 297241906 Control-electronic, assy, white/chrome, 115V. The control is "sticking" during the defrost cycle and not allowing the control to activate the compressor and cool the contents in the freezer.

Stuart, The sealed system on a unit would be all the components that the refrigerant runs through, compressor, evaporator, condenser, heater exchanger, yoder loop and filter drier. It sounds like you may have a sealed system issue and would need to contact an authorized sealed system service technician to repair the unit.

Roger, Unfortunately there is no way to test the controller other than checking to make sure that it is 120 vac to the controller. If there is power to it and the compressor is not coming on then this will most likely be a faulty controller.

Hello Jim, This is most likely just a bad controller 297259515. The only thing you can do is to test terminal to terminal on the compressor terminals. Two pairs of terminals will have lower resistances and when added together, they will total to the resistance of the third pair tested. This tests the windings of the compressor. If good, the controller is the cause of the issue.

Hello Tom. You will need to check the defrost timer 5304518034 and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You will test for power to and from the timer. If there is none coming from it, then manually advance the timer and see if the unit turns on. If so, then the timer is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Sylvester, If you pull the unit out the compressor is behind the unit and the controller will be on the side of the compressor.
