Greg O for Model Number FRS26H5AS My ice maker is making less ice than normal. I hear the harvest cycle start, and sometimes the fill valve will open and close almost right away. Other times the harvest cycle will occur and no fill occurs at all, and other times, it fills normally and produces normal-sized cubes. The harvest cycles seem to occur about once an hour or hour and 15 minutes. We changed the filters and there is good pressure at the water spout on the freezer door. Any ideas what to look for or fix?
Answer Hello Greg. If the power to the water valve stops before the icemaker is full, you will need to order and replace the icemaker in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
