Michael P Clarkston , MI January 31, 2016 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4CWE Ice maker stopped working Checked the internet to see what the recommended fix was based upon my model # and the problem I was having. I eventually ended up at the appliance parts pros websites video showing how to remove the ice maker and change it out with a new one. The appliance parts pros video was extremely helpful in the repair process! When I contacted appliance parts pros via chat on their website they quickly confirmed that this part would fit my model. So I ordered the replacement ice maker and kept my fingers crossed feeling 99% positive that I had diagnosed the problem - that the old ice maker had bit the dust. When I called my local Frigidaire parts dealer I was told that the replacement part would cost $138 plus tax and they wouldn't allow me to return the part unless the new part was found to be defective. I didn't like the idea that if this part wasn't the problem I'd have to eat a $138 part and still not have ice! So appliance parts pros much better price along with it's great return policy played a huge part in my purchase. Appliance parts pros had the part in the truck the day I ordered it and a few days later it was at my door. Installation was quick and easy. Once the ice maker was hooked up and had a chance to cool down to freezer temperature (about 20 minutes) the water kicked in and it was making ice again! A day and a half later the ice buckets full and it's working like a charm. Thanks appliance parts pros, you saved us from repair headaches and we saved money! I would recommend this company to anyone in need of appliance repair help. Fast, cost effective, and expert help, who could ask for more? Mark W Bellefontaine , OH June 13, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4CW3 No ice!!!! the ice maker was non operational and required replaced The refrigerator was purchased in 2004 right after we moved into our first home. So ten years later the ice maker was non operational and required to be replaced. We ordered a new replacement icemaker to be able to have ice on demand. The ice maker arrived and my daughter changed out the ice maker with no major problems. The main issue was being able to get the ice maker properly level so no water would run over the sides of the ice maker. It was so easy to install that pretty much anyone could do that. We utilized a small 1/4' drive socket set with a small level. Read More... 9 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Socket Set
Robert K Dothan , AL April 17, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4CBB Ice maker stopped making ice CHECKED MICRO SWITCHES, AND THEY WERE GOOD. CHECKED THERMOSTAT, AND IT WAS GOOD. CHECKED MOTOR AND IT WAS GOOD. CHECKED ICE MOLD HEATER, AND FOUND IT TO BE OPEN. THE HEATER IS STAKED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ICE MOLD. AT THIS POINT I DECIDED THAT IT WAS NOT WORTH MESSING WITH AS I FOUND ONE OF THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS HOLDING THE HEATER TO THE ICE MOLD WAS BADLY CORRODED, AND WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE. I WOULD HAVE HAD TO TRY AND DRILL OUT THE SCREW & CHASE THE THREADS. I GAVE UP AND BOUGHT A NEW ICE MAKER. Mark W Bellefontaine , OH October 01, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26R4CW3 Ice maker is not operating a required no ice!!! Being mechanically capable, I troubleshot the ice maker to see if it was either the ice maker or the water control valve not working correctly. After checking all connections on the ice maker, I filled up the ice maker tray assemble with water and walked away for @ 20 minutes. If the ice maker was fully operational, I'd have ice. If not, no ice. With my meter I found out that the part that was broken costed @ 2/3 the cost of a new ice maker. So I just said to myself.... buy the whole replacement icemaker. I got it in two days and and installed it w/o any issues. Now I got ice on demand.
