Mark D My refrigerator ice maker stopped making ice. I first changed out the ice maker.....still no ice.......then I changed out the valve. How long should it take to make ice?
Answer Mark, Depending on the model and the temperature in the freezer will determine how long it takes to make ice. On a top freezer with minimal opening of the freezer and the temp being at 0 degrees, there will be approximately 8 cubes (on a standard 8 cube icemaker) made every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. On side by side refrigerator and bottom freezer would be about the same. There are some units that based on the design can reduce the time of making ice down to 1 hour. If your icemaker is still not making ice then check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen where it comes into the freezer compartment to the icemaker. Read More...
