Sissy for Model Number FRS6R5ES84 My ice maker has stopped making ice. I still get the water from the door. The ice maker is not making any noise like when the water would fill up I hear no noise at all. I have put the handle up and down several times today. Do I need to order a replacement ice maker? Or can you tell me what else I can look at.
Answer Sissy, You will want to pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that the fill tube that comes into the icemaker is not frozen. A frozen fill tube will cause no ice. If frozen then you will want to clear the ice and replace the water valve. If it is clear then you will want to cycle the icemaker and check to make sure that you are getting 120 vac to the water valve when the icemaker calls for water. If not then replace icemaker and if so then replace the valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
