Kelsey for Model Number 417.40412703 Hi, my washer stopped working midload. A complete stop, no hum or ticking of a timer advance. I noticed the door lock light would light up whenever the knob was pulled out, and tested the door. Sure enough, the door lock wasn't working. It is now replaced, and does hold the door shut whenever the knob is pulled out (and the light also stays on, as before). I also hear a hum when I pull the knob now, but the timer doesn't advance and no water starts, at any point on the dial. I spoke to a customer service person who told me that there wasn't much to these models, as there is no display. He thought it was the timer. I agree, but don't know the symptoms of a control board malfunction. Does it sound like the timer to you?
Answer Kelsey, Before you replace the timer, check and make sure the faucets are open and then check to see if the hoses aren't kinked or clogged. then check or replace the fill valve 134211400. The humming noise could be due to no water to the valve or a failed valve. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, October 9, 2015
