Christine for Model Number JP340WOA2WW (or JP340WA2WW) I have a 2001 GE glass cooktop, not a range. When I turn on the large front right element to level 6 or above (med high) and then want to lower the temp to 4 (medium) after it is hot, it does not lower and stays at that higher temp and the element continues glowing red. I then need to turn it completely off, wait 10-15 seconds for it to cool a bit (and I can hear it 'thunk' off) then I can turn it back on to the lower temp level and it is fine. Do I need to replace the element or the switch? I presume the parts for the model JP340WA2WW will fit my model.
