Joe V. for Model Number GE PROFILE BUILT IN WALL OVEN - JT912B-F1BB

My oven door remained locked after self cleaning cycle started. The circuit breaker to the oven would not reset and kept switching back to the off position. No light or response in the control panel. The F2 error code appeared one time. Is this problem caused by the overheated and shorted circuit board (Part # AP3957561)? How do I get the oven door to unlock and opened? How do I replace the circuit board if the door cannot be opened? Do I have to get the oven out of the wall to replace this part? I really appreciate your help on this. Thank you very much. J. Vu

Answer

Hello Joe, The F2 fault code is the indication of a runaway temperature. As per the tech sheet: • Welded relay contacts • Airflow to rear of unit • High resistance in oven sensor leads/connectors (especially at sensor in rear) JT912BF1BB What this means is you need to check the temperature sensor through the harness that connects it to the control board and then check it at he sensor. This will reveil any abnormal resistance through the harness. If it checks good, the control will require replacement to correct the issue.
