Manufacturer Part Number: WR30X30972

The Icemaker is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is designed to produce ice cubes by automatically filling the ice mold with water, freezing it, and then ejecting the ice into the ice bucket. This part ensures a steady supply of ice for your household needs.

Causes of a bad icemaker can include mechanical wear and tear, electrical failures, or issues with the water supply. Over time, the icemaker’s components can degrade, leading to inconsistent ice production or complete failure.

Symptoms of a bad icemaker include:

  • No ice production
  • Small, misshapen, or hollow ice cubes
  • Ice maker not ejecting ice
  • Unusual noises from the ice maker

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Drob for Model Number GSL25JFPABS

Initially there was no water being dispensed, but did not need that option. Now icemaker stopped working, although green light is on. Checked water source and filter. Checked electrical on water valve (187 ohms). Does not appear that water is getting to icemaker but lines are not frozen. Does this mean the icemaker, even though power light is on, has failed, and no water is getting to tray? In addition, tried to run diagnostic function, but it did not activate a cycle.

Answer

DRob, With the icemaker not getting water to it you will want to check to see if the fill tube is clogged. If it is not then cycle the icemaker and see if there is 120 vac getting to the water valve. If there is 120 vac to the water valve then the water valve would most likely be the issue. If there is not 120 vac then this will most likely be a bad icemaker.
