Chris for Model Number Refrigerator:ESS22XGMBWW / ice maker: WR30X10061 we have been having issues with our current icemaker making too much ice and causing the water dispenser to stop working, It appears the feeler arm is not working properly. We end up shuting the freezer down to unfreeze the line. I feel we are down to the last resort and replace the ice maker. Is this new model that replaces the one we have difficult to install?
Answer Chris, It won't be difficult at all, If you have "basic" tools and skills. Just remember to remove power to the refrigerator and read the instructions that are supplied with the new icemaker assembly. Now the water tube in the door freezing, check and make sure the freezer door gasket is sealing to the refrigerator cabinet front flange, check for moisture or ice on the inner and outer door liners. and make sure the dispenser flapper is sealing when closed. Check the freezer compartment air temperature( reccomendation would be 3 to 5 dgrs.) and definitely not below 0. Any moisture or ice on the door or liner would indicate an air leak around the door gasket, or a void in the insulation and the door assembly would need to be repalced. Read More...
