Mark for Model Number dvlr223eg7ww Hello installing part number WD21X10261 Switch interlock. When mounted in the bottom of the can, should the button be depressed so u would have continuity. Its mounted downward ( with the button on the bottom) It just seems the button has no purpose if it forced up by the mounting. It cant pop open or anything. My main question is should there be continuity when the switch is mounted? or should the button be depressed when mounted? Thanks Mark Just one more note: there is a repair video u have out there for this part but it is a video for the door switch, not this part
Answer Mark, The button should on the interlock switch should face toward the idler arm on the unit so that when you engage the idler arm it will activate the switch and if the belt breaks it will allow the switch to deactive and stop the dryer from running.
