Sarah for Model Number GSD6960N00SS Our dishwasher has stopped working completely (no power, nothing). A dishwasher repair person told us the module control needed to be replaced and pointed out two black wires with orange caps that hook onto metal prongs. One is getting power, the other isn't. We ordered the module control WD21X10372. We received the module control but there is an additional piece with two metal prongs (and attached orange wires) that snaps on to the front of the module control. This appears to be a separate piece from the module control since we did not receive it with our order. How do we order that additional part since this is apparently the part with the issue? I have a photo but not sure if it's possible to post. Thanks
Answer Hello Sarah, This is most likely the door switch assembly WD21X10169 on this design. You should also make sure the unit is properly leveled with all four feet contacting the floor and the unit secured to the countertop/cabinet. If the orange cap you referred to is the wire nut in the power connection box behind the kickpanel, it will require replacement and the door switch will still need to be checked. The control module should not be replaced until you have verified voltage is getting to it but not passed properly to the operating circuits. Read More...
