I can turn the control by turning the flat portion below the knob which runs through the sequence, but; the machine functions. Problem: When pulling the knob out it spins freely without functioning. Answer Hello Roger, When you pull out on the center knob, this is the "ON" position. You should not be able to change the cycle position since this is not considered to be normal operation. If the position in the cycle needs to be changed, to protect the contacts in the timer mechanism, the center knob should be pressed in and turned, then pulled back out to resume operation.
