Dave for Model Number JT965SOF3SS Is there a way to test the temp sensor and will the temp sensor disable the oven? The bake, broil and convection do not heat. I have checked the lower calrod/element for continuity and it checks about 25 ohms. The control panel seems to function as all buttons work and display. The set temp displays @ 350 and start temp shows 100. but no heat from the elements.
Answer Dave, Yes, you can test the oven sensor for a resistance of 1090 ohms at room temperature. It would most likely not be an issue with the sensor shutting the entire unit down. You will first want to test to make sure that there is 240 vac going into the unit. If there is then test at the elements to see if they are receiving 240 vac when set to bake. If there is proper power then it would be the elements that are bad. If there is not proper power then check for a overtemperature thermostat on the back of the oven and if there is not one then the control board will be the issue. Read More...
