Mike for Model Number JGp975BEK2BB When we try to turn on the stove the breaker trips immediately after turning the knob. If I change the spark module WB13T10047 would that fix the problem? It acts like there is a direct short and that seems like the first place to start I just do not want to keep throwing parts at it.
Answer Hello Mike, Disconnect the power to the cooktop in the junction box and turn the breaker back on. If it still trips, the problem is in the wiring/junction box and not in the unit. If it doesn't trip, use your ohm meter at the power cord and see if there is continuity from the center terminal to either side. Using ground as a reference, you can disconnect everything inside the unit one thing at a time, (reconnecting the tings that don't show a short as you go, until you find the component at fault. The issue can be any component inside the unit or the wiring inside the unit. The meter will tell on the problem. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, March 18, 2014
