Ag for Model Number GE Profile JGP975 SEK 2SS A kitchen spill incident resulted in arcing and damage to control knobs. I replaced the switch harness and the spark module. Now I have the spark. However, it always sparks on the right front burner regardless of which knob I turn. Some times, the sparks happen on the right and left front burners. I have checked the wiring and all parts are new. How do I get the sparks to happen to the correct burner? Thank you. AG
Answer AG, All the igniters should spark, whenever any switch is turned to the "lite" position " IGNITION SYSTEM: The Ignition System consists of 4 spark switches (1 on each valve), 4 spark electrodes (1 on each burner) and a spark module. The burner control knob must be turned to the LITE position to light the burner and out of the LITE position to stop the sparking after the burner has ignited. All 4 electrodes will spark when any burner control knob is in the LITE position." You'll need to check and make sure the power cord is plugged into a polarized, grounded, 120 VAC outlet. Then, check and make sure the igniter wires, between the spark module and the burner ingniters are not damaged or shorted, and the insulation is not cracked or chafed. Read More...
