Mike K. for Model Number GSS23QSTASS My side by side refrigerator/freezer seems to run continuously and the freezer temp drops 10 degrees below the 3 degrees setting. The refrigerator side gets colder too (36 degrees). Is this normal? Is this a thermostat problem?
Answer Hi. The thermistor's part # WR55X10025 send the temperature sensed to the control board to operate the controlled circuits. They ohm out to 10,000 ohms at 0°. Disconnect them and ohm them out at the main board. The wiring diagram is in the controls or behind the lower kick plate. The freezer thermistor is on the upper wall behind the sensor oval grill. Check the refrigerator sensor (same part #) as well at the board. Keep in mind that if the Fresh food thermistor is good then I would concentrate on replacing the Motorized Damper Kit part # WR49X10091. This will correct fresh food temperatures. Thank You.
