Chris for Model Number GTD42GASJ2WW My GE GTD42GASJ2WW dryer on the "Casuals" auto dry setting - the timer does not advance and the dryer will not stop, even overnight when the clothes are hot and dry. On the timed setting, the timer advances and the dryer shuts off like normal. Getting conflicting answers as to the problem being the venting, cycling thermostat, electronic control board, or the timer. How can I determine which? I will check the venting and probably wouldn't want to hassle with replacing the cycling thermostat myself since it looks from the video like too much I'd want to do. Thanks.
Answer Chris, With this issue, try cleaning the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol. If this does not correct the issue, then check to ensure that the venting is not clogged between the blower housing and the outside of your home. Read More...
