David G. Ok, I received the resister yesterday and installed. It still does not "time out" on "Automatic Cottons" or "Automatic Permenent Press" it operates in those settings but doesn't "time out" the same as it did with the original resister. Frustrating! What else could it be?
Answer Hello David. Check the moisture bars on the inside of the dryer drum and make sure they are clean. Also check the wires going to them and make sure they are not broken. The bars are under the lint filter section at the front of the drum. If they are good, the thermostat may be bad WE4M156. You will need to test and see if there is power going to the timer motor, when the thermostat is closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
