Dawn for Model Number DQSR483EE1WW Would the timer being defective cause the level of heat to be significantly reduced or do you think I have a dual problem ?
Answer Dawn, you most likely have a "dual problem" The timer supplies power to the heater element, it either works or doesn't work. The temperature is controlled through the temperature selector switch, the thermostats and the heater element(s). The first check to make is the vent pipe and the vent hood to make sure they aren't clogged with lint or debris, or kinked /collapsed. The improper air flow would cause the dryer to cycle on the high limit thermostat, and seem like the temperature is low because it takes so long to dry a load. Read More...
