Dawn, you most likely have a "dual problem" The timer supplies power to the heater element, it either works or doesn't work. The temperature is controlled through the temperature selector switch, the thermostats and the heater element(s). The first check to make is the vent pipe and the vent hood to make sure they aren't clogged with lint or debris, or kinked /collapsed. The improper air flow would cause the dryer to cycle on the high limit thermostat, and seem like the temperature is low because it takes so long to dry a load.

Chongguang, With power removed from the dryer, and the timer dial set in any dry cycle, the timer, you should have a "closed" circuit between "B" (red) and "C" (brown) wire terminals, with the wires disconnected. Did you also check the idler switch WD21X10261 and wires when you replaced the motor? if the switch is faulty or the wires are damaged or broken, the dryer will not start or run as well.

Hello Ron! We do not seem to have the wiring information available. There should be a wiring diagram inside the control panel of the dryer. Thanks.
