Deb for Model Number GTDP490GD0WS The time switch knob turns (no clicking occurs when turned)and seems too easy, but when I hit the start button doesn't work. Which part should I replace? on switch, or timer.
Answer Deb, There is a fuse on top of the heater that if fails will keep the unit from starting. WE4M182 A continuity test will need to be done on the fuse. Should have two brown wires going to it. If the fuse has continuity then you can check the timer for continuity between B and C on a timed dry cycle and should have continuity. This is testing the contacts inside the timer and no power is needed for this test. If the fuse is good and the timer tests good then the motor is the most likely suspect. Read More...
