The Unit Surface 6" is an OEM replacement part for GE electric ranges. It is specifically designed to provide consistent, reliable heating for cooking. This 6-inch electric coil surface element is responsible for generating the heat necessary to cook food on the stove. It plugs into the range top and is powered by electricity to heat up to the desired temperature, controlled by the range's knobs. 3 - wire, 1350w, hi-rise, no ring - Note: Comes with ceramic block, terminals and screws.

CD, Raising or removing the cooktop panel isn't necessary, but makes it a bit easier to work with in, some cases. You do want to make sure you remove power to the range before you do anything. Locate the element retainer screw, along the edge of the burner opening and remove it. Raise and slide the element up and out of the cooktop, until the attachment terminals are accessible, label the wires and remove the screws and wires from the element terminals. Reverse the procedure to install the wires and element, Restore power and test the element(s) for operation.
