Patrick for Model Number LDS4821BB

Hello, 4 months ago I replaced the circulation pump after a loud noise right at the startup of the dishwasher. The previous pump had a stripped shaft and was „oily“. After replacement no issues since. Today the noise is back and I’m afraid the circulation pump failed again. It seems odd that I would have the same issue again. Any idea what the reason could be to cause the shaft to strip again? It’s literally the exact same noise so I'm sure it is the circulation pump. Thank you for any insight you may have

Answer

Patrick, pieces of bones, shells, and other debris can slip into the impeller section and get wedged between the impeller and outer wall. This could cause the impeller to strip out as well as cause excess tension on the motor shaft and motor. It is recommended that the impeller 5911ED3003A is inspected for any signs of damage or debris that could be getting caught.
