David D Alabaster , AL April 21, 2017 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDS5540ST My lg lds5540st was squealing during the wash cycle I replaced the dishwasher circulation motor. I also replaced the impeller assembly, although it turns out that was not necessary. Actually replacing the motor was straightforward: Remove the upper and lower racks. Turn off the breaker and water supply. Disconnect power, supply water and drain hose. Slide out the dishwasher. Inside the dishwasher, unscrew the two screws holding on the bottom rotating sprayer and remove the sprayer, unscrew the one screw holding the little metal bracket and remove the little bracket, remove all the long screws holding down the filter assembly, unclip the tube that feeds the upper sprayer (at top and back) and rotate clockwise (looking down from above) to unhook it from the filter assembly, remove that tube, lift up and remove the filter assembly, unscrew the screw that holds the impeller to the circulation motor shaft (this is a left-handed screw, to screw clockwise to loosen), pull off the impeller, lift out the assembly below the impeller, and finally very carefully slide the grinder blade off of the circulation motor shaft. Close the dishwasher door. Tilt the dishwasher on its side, disconnect the wiring harness on the motor (you will need a small slotted screwdriver to pry back the tabs), remove four self tapping screws that hold on the motor cover plate (don't lose the screws), unscrew the four screws that hold on the dishwasher circulation motor, pull out the motor, then install the new motor by doing these steps in reverse. Ron M Parrish , FL June 04, 2020 Appliance: Model LDF6920ST (ASTEEUS) - LG DISHWASHER LG ldf6920st started making a whining sound. I looked at the parts list and figured that it could only be the circulation motor because it was draining and filling just fine. Actually aside from the noise, it was working just fine. So to be sure someone else agreed with my assessment I called APP's and spoke to Garret. After a few questions, we agreed it was either the impeller or the motor. So we ordered a new motor, impeller and pump gasket. I was surprised to learn it would be delivered so quickly, So I set out to watch the repair video on the Appliance PartsPros website a couple of times and gathered the few tools recommended for the repair. The parts came in a couple of days and I started to do the repair using the sequence from the video. I was amazed at how accurate the video was at what I was doing. Total time to test run? Under 2 hours... that’s it and a lot of that was getting the cabinet empty before I started. After watching the video I felt like I had done it 50 times before. The only thing the video didn’t address was the leftover water in the sump. I used an old Turkey blaster to suck it out and that worked fine. Ray C Reston , VA December 19, 2017 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDS4821ST Le code on lg direct drive dishwasher. LE code wasn't in user guide! Found it on the internets, linked to ApplianceParts Pros.com. Said it was pump motor failure, $100 seemed like a lot, but the video was clear as day, saved me time, which is money (certainly compared to the repair call!). Ordered the part, came the next day, did the install in 1.5 hours, worked like new. Thanks, guys! Read More... Todd B Sumas , WA July 24, 2016 Appliance: Model LDF7920ST Main pump not working LG Canada does not allow you to purchase parts which forced me to order in the US. I found that LDF7920ST and LDF7932ST are the same for most parts. I replaced the motor assembly and impeller which made a significant difference. All in all not a hard job. Read More...
