This controller assembly is the appliance's main electronic control that manages cycles and user inputs to restore proper control operation. Replace a failing controller assembly to address unresponsive controls, incorrect cycle behavior, or intermittent errors. What it does:

  • Manages cycle selection, timing, and communication between sensors and motors to coordinate appliance operation.
  • Interprets user inputs from the front panel and sends commands to other components.
  • Failure may cause unresponsive buttons, unexpected error codes, stalled or incorrect cycles, or an appliance that won't start.
  • Replacing the assembly often resolves control-board–related faults when diagnostics point to the main controller.
What's included: One controller assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before removing the old assembly to avoid shock or damage.
  • Handle the board and connectors carefully; avoid static discharge and cradle the assembly by its edges.
  • Match the replacement to the exact part number and transfer any brackets, grounding straps, or button housings as needed.

Answer

John, To access the evaporator to replace the controller you will need to remove the shelving. Once shelving is removed you will remove any screws that are in the back lower part of the wall below the light assembly. The arrows are tabs where it hooks to the liner. If you are able to grab hold of the rear panel and pull out then that is the best way to get it off. The controller will be attached to the evaporator.
