For Lg Refrigerator Defrost Controller Assembly (Part Number: OEM17922309)

Todd, your defrost control assembly checks OK, blue to brown wires should have a "closed" circuit under any condition(it's a "meltable fuse). The orange to orange wires should have a resistance of 10K ohms resistance at room temp. Sounds like the sensor assembly is OK. if you're having a defrost issue, the next step is the control board.

John, The arrows on the cover are showing you where the back wall is clipped to the liner. You can try to use a flat blade to release then or if you can get ahold of the back wall just pull it off. Make sure that if there are any screws in the wall that your remove them.

John, To access the evaporator to replace the controller you will need to remove the shelving. Once shelving is removed you will remove any screws that are in the back lower part of the wall below the light assembly. The arrows are tabs where it hooks to the liner. If you are able to grab hold of the rear panel and pull out then that is the best way to get it off. The controller will be attached to the evaporator.

Benjamin W for Model Number LSC27914SB Lg Refrigerator

There are 2 problems with my fridge. 1) One the controller on the door where you select water, ice, temp, ect... locks up every day or so and I have to unplug the fridge from the wall to reset it. 2) The defroster is not working because there is ice build up inside the freezer compartment and temperature does not get cold enough. I took it apart and tested the heating element for continuity and it looks ok. The controller shows around 14K ohms on the orange wires and that changes with temperature. The Brown and blue wires read open. Does that mean it needs to be replaced?

Hello Benjamin, The dispenser controls locking up would indicate that the dispenser control board is faulty. Unless it is getting an error code. If it gets an error code you will not be able to use the dispenser. The controller ACM73079207 should read closed and if it is reading open then yes it would need to be replaced.
