Phillip for Model Number LDS5540ST Hello, My LG Dishwasher is giving me an FE error code about 10-15 minutes into a "Normal" cycle. The problem doesn't happen on a "Quick" Cycle. Shortly after the time the soap compartment opens up (whether or not soap is in the compartment), the dishwasher decides to add more water. The problem is, it hasn't drained the water it filled a few minutes ago. This triggers the over-flow and causes the tub to drain and cycle to abort. The valve has no problem opening and closing, starting flow and stopping flow. At the same point in the cycle (every time) it decides to add more water to the tub -- even though the tub is almost completely filled. So far I have removed the float assembly and cleaned out the water float box. The floats move up and down freely. Problem remains. Also of note, when I had the dishwasher pulled out and ran a "normal" cycle, the problem didn't happen. Leading me to believe maybe the washer is off level(?) Do you have any thoughts of suggestions?
Answer Phillip, it may be possible that the drain hose has a partial clog or was slightly pinched and not allowing the unit to drain properly. If it does not drain properly, then there will be an overfill situation and since the normal cycle uses more water than the quick cycle, this will differentiate the over all fill amount. Read More...
