Mike for Model Number LDS5040ST We got the FE code. The tub seemed to drain mid cycle. Checked the float assembly and it was full of black crud (we were away in Florida for 6 months?). I cleaned it out and ran a fresh cycle with the same result. Should we change the water inlet valve first or maybe the float assembly? Is there a way to troubleshoot?
Answer Mike, the float assembly will need to be checked to ensure that the switches are able to be activated and de-activated. The valve can be tested by marking where the water level is after the unit drains. After 1 hour, if the water level rises any, the valve has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
