William for Model Number LFXS29626 My Q is similar to the one posted below (blocks of ice forming in the indoor ice maker). I think the ice maker is overfilling? Seems the problem started after I replaced the water filter. Could that make it overfill? I guess the valve could be leaky but the problem stops when I turn off the ice maker. Water is leaking into the ice bin (AP5976579)assembly and creating a block of ice in the basket of ice. I can’t determine where the water is leaking from? Thoughts on what needs replacing? Tom for Model Number LG LFXS30766D /00 Answer Tom, the ice maker fill tube will need to be inspected for any water coming through and overfilling the ice maker. This would indicate that the water valve AJU74532703 is leaking by. If there are no signs of it leaking by, then the dispenser chute and the ice bin will need to be inspected for air leaks as this can cause a similar issue.
Answer William, It is very possible that the water valve does not fully shut off and water seeps through and causes the leaking issue. It is also possible that the icemaker mold is leaking and would cause this issue as well or the icemaker is calling for too much water. In this case the icemaker would need to be replaced.
