Questions & Answers

For Lg Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly Kit (Part Number: OEM17861379)

Steven, thanks for the question. The harvest cycle is triggered by a thermostat in the ice maker. The temperature at the ice maker must get below 8°f for the thermostat to close and start the harvest cycle. Since the new ice maker is doing the same as the old one, you likely have a cooling issue instead of an ice maker issue.

Hello Thierry, thank you for contacting APP, I would recommend replacing the Icemaker Assembly AEQ73130004 as it sounds like the icemaker motor cannot find the home position after the 1st cycle.

Jon, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented. The first check that would be recommended in general would be verifying that the freezer temperature is at 0°F when measured with a separate thermometer.

Jon, Unfortunately, we do not have any diagrams showing the breakdown of the icemaker.

Barrett for Model Number lfxs30766s

LG ice maker (rotating ejection fingers, not the twist tray style) works when reset button is pressed IF the bin is pulled out to keep the ice level sense arm from hitting the bin. The bin is properly seated, the arm (metal wire) is unbent - it is obvious that the sweep of the arm is fixed by the 90° bend and is unchanged. I have cycled power to the unit thinking that perhaps it resets/calibrates itself, but operation is still the same. It seems odd that a failure of some sort would cause the arm to move a greter rotation, but that's what appears to happen. When the arm travels the full distance then the ice cycle completes correctly.

Barrett, This issue would be caused by a faulty icemaker that would need to be replaced.

Ben, You will need to check for a frozen fill tube, and whether or not the water valve is receiving power when the ice maker calls for water.
