Greg for Model Number WM2688HNM I have an LG WM2688HNM washing machine. I started a load this morning and noticed an odd metallic noise about 45 minutes into the cycle. When I checked on the noise, it was during the spin cycle and the machine was not spinning. The machine was full of soapy water. I canceled the cycle and unplugged the machine. When I restored power and turned it back on I tried a rinse and spin cycle. The first thing the cycle does is spin and that did not happen, just the noise. It pumps in water and will toss the clothes around but when it comes time to really spin, the drum is stationary and noisy. I am guessing this is a bearing failure. Looking at your repair symptoms, I do not think this is a sensor. What do you suggest on the repair?
Answer Hello Greg, the control will not allow the spin cycle unless it sees the tub water has drained, the noise may be the drain pump having a problem, if so the drain pump is 4681EA2001T. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 5, 2020
