Keithntrish for Model Number WA422PRHDWR/AA-02 We have replaced the control module and main control board because no buttons were responding. All cycle selections and buttons work fine now but when we pushed start to begin a wash cycle, nothing happened. We went into service mode and we received the code FL which points to door lock assembly switch. We ordered the part from you today. Are we going in the right direction? Can we clear the codes on this machine before installing the new part? I don’t want the machine to immediately think there is a problem due to its memory after replacing the part. Thank you for any insight.
Answer Keithntrish, the door lock assembly can be tested using a multimeter. At connection CN8, resistance can be tested from the green wire to the white wire and should measure approximately 0.2 ohms. Then the black wire to the brown wire should read between 33 to 46 ohms. While the door is in the unlocked state, the white wire to blue wire should measure 0.2 ohms and when locked the white wire to the red wire should measure the same. If the lock fails in any of these resistance checks, then it has certainly failed and would need to be replaced. If there is an 0L reading, then the wiring going to the lock will need to be checked for any breaks or loose connections. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, September 23, 2019
