Thank You, I tried trouble shooting my washer, my washer is not coming on, I checked the breaker, and also the power plug and everything is good. This is about the third time it did this when I press the start button and it won't come on. I go back around a couple of days and the press the start and pause button together for 3 seconds then it will come back on. This time it is not coming on. Do you think it's the electronic control board or maybe i have a shortage in the locking button?

1 Answer

Steve, You cannot bypass the lid lock on the unit as it is a safety device. If the lid lock is not working then it will need to be replaced.

Our washer occasionally malfunctioned, with the door locked and not filling, or the drum would fill with water and not start agitating. Sometimes we would close the lid and it would just double beep when the start button was pushed, and wouldnt lock. Sometimes it would lock, do the starting spins prior to filling and then do nothing more. It has now locked (double single tone beep, no error code) and will not unlock, will not fill. Ive unplugged the unit for 10 minutes in the hope it might do a reset, but no luck. We can change all the settings and cycles, but the unit stays locked and even with the unit powered off, the lock light stays lit.

Hello Bryan, with all these symptoms its best if you run the test mode to find what fault codes the control board has in its memory to determine the cause and the repair needed. I will send the Fast Track sheet to your email.

We have replaced the control module and main control board because no buttons were responding. All cycle selections and buttons work fine now but when we pushed start to begin a wash cycle, nothing happened. We went into service mode and we received the code FL which points to door lock assembly switch. We ordered the part from you today. Are we going in the right direction? Can we clear the codes on this machine before installing the new part? I don’t want the machine to immediately think there is a problem due to its memory after replacing the part. Thank you for any insight.

Keithntrish, the door lock assembly can be tested using a multimeter. At connection CN8, resistance can be tested from the green wire to the white wire and should measure approximately 0.2 ohms. Then the black wire to the brown wire should read between 33 to 46 ohms. While the door is in the unlocked state, the white wire to blue wire should measure 0.2 ohms and when locked the white wire to the red wire should measure the same. If the lock fails in any of these resistance checks, then it has certainly failed and would need to be replaced. If there is an 0L reading, then the wiring going to the lock will need to be checked for any breaks or loose connections.

Corbin, you may want to test the suspension rods DC97-16350C by pressing down on the tub while it is empty. Once the tub is as far as it can go, quickly release it and the tub should immediately rise back into its original position without jumping up and down. If the tub does jump, then the suspension rods have failed and would need to be replaced. The hall sensor on the stator DC93-00309A would need to be inspected as well for any loose connections or damaged terminals.

Lil, We would need more information as to what the unit is doing. Please supply more information on what the unit is doing and not doing so that we can assist with your question properly. We would also need a model number for the unit.

I tried some of your troubleshooting suggestions here and was pretty certain it was a latch failure. The washer won't start filling or running. Cycle selection works fine and everything else responds as well. When I push start the indicator that shows what part of the cycle is running just flashes wash and the cycle on the dial does the same thing. Could this be something else? I have gotten 2 latches (from a seller on Amazon) that were used when they were supposed to be new and they were also the old version. Should I just get a new one from you or is there something else I should check first?

1 Answer

Chris, With the unit not filling with water you will want to check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the water valve and make sure that the water valve screens are not clogged. If there is power and screens are not clogged but no water coming in then this will be a bad valve. If there is no power then this would be a faulty main control board.

When I try to start a cycle, I hear the door try to latch and the machine starts to go through the cycle but pauses almost immediately and never finishes, I also do not get an error code. It sounds like the lock isn't fully latching, so when I pause and manually pull the latch all the way out, the machine will go complete the wash cycle. It seems to me that I need to the door lock assembly, but could it also have something to do with the control board?

1 Answer

Jennifer, Based on the information provided the door lock assembly would be the most likely cause for this issue.
